No one likes a smelly dog, least of all your poor pooch. But don’t despair – there are ways to get rid of that dog odor for good! Here are our top tips:
1. Bathe your dog regularly. This is the most obvious solution, but it’s also the most effective. A good shampoo will remove dirt and oil from your dog’s coat, leaving them smelling fresh and clean.
2. Brush their teeth. Just like people, dogs can get bad breath if they don’t brush their teeth regularly. Be sure to use toothpaste designed specifically for dogs (never use human toothpaste, as it can be toxic to them).
3. Use a pet-safe air freshener. There are many different kinds of air fresheners on the market, but not all of them are safe to use around pets. Look for an air freshener made with natural ingredients that is safe to use around animals.
4. Clean their bedding regularly. Your dog’s bedding can hold onto odors even after they’ve left the bedding itself. Be sure to wash their bedding frequently in hot water to remove any lingering smells.
5. Limit their exposure to strong smells. If your dog is constantly exposed to strong smells (like garbage or other animals), it can be tough to get rid of its own odor. Try to limit their exposure to strong smells as much as possible and give them plenty.
